Letters from the Global South is a pop-up exhibition that features letters and images created by schoolchildren and campaigners from communities around the world, particularly those vulnerable to the climate and nature crises.
As Zero Hour launches its ‘The Nation Needs You!’ campaign, which encourages candidates in the upcoming general election to back the Climate & Ecology Bill, the exhibition will be travelling to raise awareness and support campaigners around the UK.
Easy to set up and install, this pop-up exhibition is a great way to start conversations around the need for urgent action on the climate & nature crisis. Powerful and moving, it illustrates how local action in the UK can positively impact those who are already living on the front lines of the crisis.
Zero Hour is a cross-party campaign for an important piece of legislation – the Climate and Nature (CAN) Bill - that was written and is backed by several scientists. If made law, it would require the government to lock existing international climate and nature commitments into domestic law, take responsibility for its entire carbon and ecological footprint, both domestically and across its supply chain, and ensure public consultation so that no community is left behind as we decarbonise and work towards a healthier, more sustainable and just society.
The aim of the 2024 election campaign is to get every Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) in every constituency across the UK to back the CAN Bill. This is a significant opportunity for candidates to show a serious commitment to tackling the climate and ecology crisis. Having as many candidates back the CAN Bill will ensure that it has high level of support in Parliament regardless of which party wins the election.
